The program was prepared and will be conducted by conductor Volodymyr Vivcharyk and host – Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Maria Khrystynych. Spiritual evening «Because you are now your Metropolitan...» will be held with the blessing of Metropolitan Ihor (Vozniak) of the Lviv UGCC under the patronage of the Lviv Archdiocese of the UGCC and the «Andrey» Foundation. Spiritual and artistic program «Because you are now your Metropolitan...» will take place on Sunday 18 January, in the Archcathedral of St. George (m. Lviv, square St. Yura, 5). Start of the event at 17:00. Metropolitan Andrey (Sheptytskyi) (July 29, 1865 — November 1, 1944) — head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, one of the most outstanding leaders of the Ukrainian Church and the national movement of the first half of the 20th century. A representative of the noble count family of the Sheptytskyi, doctor of law and theology, outstanding philanthropist. Brother of the blessed hieromartyr of the UGCC Klymentii. He headed the Greek Catholic Church during the two World Wars, initiated the development of monasticism and public life, initiated a number of social, educational, and cultural initiatives. On January 17, 1901, Bishop Andrey Sheptytskyi was enthroned as Metropolitan of Halytskyi, Archbishop of Lviv, Bishop of Kamianets-Podilskyi. In the Pastoral Message «The Greatest Commandment» on this occasion, Metropolitan Andrey writes: "so today I ask God for this, which I wish you from the bottom of my heart and which I would be glad to see among you... Little children, love – as Christ loves you!», and continues: «Bless all those who work and multiply the fruits of their work! Comfort all those who are in grief and sorrow!
